TCC's Smart Start program orients students to their majors. It covers academic expectations, career information, educational paths, and support services available to help students reach their goals.

The School of Health Science offers separate Smart Start Orientations for Allied Health and Nursing A.A.S. majors. Sessions are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Allied Health

Allied Health students will learn essential elements for the application process and specific information about your major or areas of interest, while meeting key program personnel in the School of Allied Health. Completion of this orientation is mandatory before applying to a Health Science program.

Nursing

Nursing students will learn essential roles of the RN occupation, information about drug testing, academic and professional ethics, required immunizations, clinical course completion and student support services at TCC. Completion of this orientation is mandatory before enrolling for the upcoming semester or applying to the Nursing program.

Child Development & Education

Child Development and Education students will learn about the different pathways to becoming a child development professional or educator in the state of Oklahoma. They will also have the opportunity to meet with our faculty, staff, transfer, and community partners to explore their options. Completion of this orientation is mandatory before enrollment the following term.
